Ring Size Guide: Finding a Comfortable Adjustable Fit
Find your US ring size, check comfort, and learn how Refi Miro adjustable rings generally fitting sizes 5.5–8 can make choosing easier.
Start with the finger you want to wear the ring on. Knowing its size gives you a useful starting point, even when the band is adjustable.
Our current Refi Miro rings use an adjustable design and generally fit US sizes 5.5–8. That flexibility makes sizing less restrictive, so you have room to choose a design you enjoy and refine the fit.
What our adjustable size range means
US 5.5–8 describes the usual fitting range for our current rings. If your intended finger falls within it, an adjustable band gives you more flexibility than a single fixed size. The final fit still depends on the individual finger and ring.
For example, knowing that you usually wear a US 6 or 7 helps you decide whether the range is suitable before comparing designs. If your usual size falls outside the range, ask us about the fit before ordering.
The numbers are US ring sizes, not millimeters. If your usual size comes from another system, check the equivalent US size before ordering. Keep the size system alongside the number when you save a measurement or ask for help.
Measure the finger you plan to use
A jeweler can measure your finger with ring gauges. At home, use a purpose-made ring sizer and follow its instructions, making sure it reports US sizes. Test the intended finger on the intended hand.
- Try the sizer over the knuckle and let it rest where the ring will sit.
- Check that it feels secure without uncomfortable pressure.
- Read the size, then check that you can remove the sizer comfortably.
A string or paper strip can give a misleading reading: it can stretch, shift, or miss the fit over your knuckle. Temperature also affects finger size, so check again if your hands are unusually hot or cold. GIA's ring sizing guidance explains why a proper sizer is a better starting point.
Use a ring you already wear as a reference
Use a comfortable ring worn on the same finger and hand as a reference. A jeweler can measure it for you. If you are comparing its inside diameter with a size chart at home, measure across the center from one inner edge to the other, leaving out the metal itself.
This method needs a round interior. An open or distorted ring will not give a dependable diameter-based result. GIA's ring measurement reference makes that distinction. Use a finger sizer when the reference ring's shape makes the measurement uncertain.
Check comfort beyond the size number
A ring should pass over the knuckle and stay on securely without feeling painfully tight. Once it is on, bend your finger and relax your hand. Notice pressure, slipping, or an edge that catches your skin. Use the size as a starting point, then check how the ring feels when you move.
Think about where the design sits as well. Notice whether the setting rests comfortably between your fingers or touches a neighboring band. Try it on its own first. Then try it beside any other ring you intend to wear.
Let adjustability make choosing easier
An adjustable design gives you room to find a comfortable fit within the stated range. If two fingers are both within US 5.5–8, it may also give you a choice of where to wear the piece. Check each finger separately instead of assuming they are the same size.
Follow the guidance for the particular ring when making an adjustment. The range does not mean the band can be bent indefinitely or forced beyond its intended fit. If you are uncertain, contact us with the ring you are considering and your usual US size before making a change.
Once the fit feels comfortable, follow our everyday jewelry care guide for wearing and storing the piece.
Choosing an adjustable ring as a gift
Knowing an approximate size can make an adjustable ring easier to choose as a gift. Someone who usually wears a US 6.5 falls within our general range, giving you a useful starting point while you consider color and shape.
If you have no size information, ask which finger they would use or whether they know the size of a ring they wear there. Adjustability reduces some of the uncertainty, but a familiar design alone cannot tell you whether the range will fit.
For help with the style decision, read our guide to choosing jewelry without knowing her style. Knowing their size leaves you more room to focus on the design and the reason for your gift.
